Glamping at Camp Wolf Willow

A few years ago  my mom and I were some of the first people to stay in one of Camp Wolf Willow’s adorable A-Frame cabins. Located about an hour and a half South of Saskatoon, Camp Wolf Willow sits on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River. They offer a wide variety of accommodations such as: tenting sites, glamping tents, and of course, their A-Frame cabins.

I was also able to stay in one of their tenting sites, and it did not disappoint. Most sites have sweeping views of the river, and the campground offers many amenities. I mean they even have a winery on site. What more can you ask for.

I loved the features of this Cabin. We visited in May. And if anyone has ever been in Saskatchewan in May you know the weather can turn at any moment. Will it be 30 degrees celsius? Will it snow? Who knows? It was very windy during our stay so the fire place was a great feature.

The main floor has one bed, a fireplace, table and chairs. There is a loft that is accessible via a ladder. There is no bedding up there but you can easily put a sleeping pad up there. Outside you have a private deck, picnic table, and fire pit. The best part of it all though has to be the view. There’s nothing like watching a sunset int he land of the living skies.

The bathroom is located at the main building at Camp Wolf Willow. There is also another set of bathrooms that are closer to some of the other sites.

Since the last time I was there they have added a few activities to their property. You can now reserve a spot in a sauna. Being on the South Saskatchewan river you can of course go to the beach, providing the water is not high. You can also visit their winery. When I was there you could also get food, though that really depended on what day/time of year you are visiting.

What to Pack

For the A- Frame cabins Camp Wolf Willow provides a fitted sheet, two pillows and pillow cases. You should bring all other bedding. As you have a fire pit you can also bring the typical camping supplies and foods. This can be as simple as hot dogs and hot dog sticks, to a cast iron dutch oven to make camp fire nachos. A little boogie, but I love campfire nachos.

I 100% recommend a jet boil. It is the easiest way to make coffee in the morning. It is probable the camping item I use the most.

Before I left Saskatoon I also bought a few made in Saskatchewan products. If you have’t herd of them Those Girls At The Market make chocolate, and Sweet Wheat Bake Shop makes intricate sugar cookies.

Would you stay at Camp Wolf Willow's A-Frame Cabin?
